CLASS OVERVIEW
Learn the screen printing process from start to finish through a series of hands on demos with an emphasis on traditional and experimental techniques. Sessions Screen Printing with Scott Wyss is a fun learning environment for total beginners–no art degree required. 
 

CURRICULUM RELEVANCE 

In the time of prevalent digital media and easily accessed full color printing, the screen print medium addresses a hand-crafted approach to finished graphic work.

THIS CLASS WILL COVER
   •    Basic digital file preparation
   •    Laser Film output
   •    Choosing the right screen mesh count for your project
   •    Working with photo emulsion and properly coating your screen
   •    How to expose a screen
   •    Screen washout tips and techniques
   •    How to register your screens on press
   •    How to create off contact
   •    Proper screen printing techniques
   •    Water based vs solvent ink printing
   •    Clean-up techniques
   •    Printing on paper and textiles (t-shirt)

Cost: $175 + $35 materials fee 

 

Materials: Ink, paper, *textiles, screen frames and studio materials will be provided. Three blank t-shirts to print on (black or white shirts only)

Max Students: 8
*This class is for 18 years of age and up. No minors younger than 18 years of age due to safety requirements. 

 

Knowledge Required:

No prior screen printing experience is needed to take this class. All skill levels are welcome!
